Brian Holden, Nick Lang, and Joe Walker of StarKid Productions: StarKid first invaded the internet in July 2009 with A Very Potter Musical—a fan-made parody that premiered on YouTube and immediately went viral. They spoke with us about their journey as writers and performers, and how they went from average college students to the people behind an internet sensation at our kick-off event, Wednesday, March 20th, at the Oxford Community Arts Center.
Jennifer Bradbury is the author of A Moment Comes, Wrapped, and her debut novel, Shift. Shift--which Kirkus Reviews gave a starred review, calling it "fresh, absorbing, compelling"--was picked as an ALA and a School Library Journal Best Book for Young Adults. A former English teacher and one-day Jeopardy! champ, she spoke with us via Skype about where she gets her ideas and how to get your own, as well as other questions posed by audience members.
Author of Your Negro Tour Guide: Truths in Black and White, published in 2005, Kathy Y. Wilson continues to write for the Cincinnati City Beat. She writes about everything from issues related to gender, sexuality, and race to her compulsive list-making habits, and is also a contributor for NPR. You can find an archive of her columns online at http://www.citybeat.com/cincinnati/by-author-6-1.html, and she joined us on Thursday, March 21, 2013 to speak about her experiences as a writer and advice for others.

Linda Lowery has written over 50 books for young readers ages 3 to 13, published by Random House, Lerner, Scholastic, Peachtree and Golden. Many of her books have also been published in Spanish, since she lived in Mexico for 8 years and was inspired to write about that beautiful culture. Over the years, she has written magazine and newspaper articles, and created kids' puzzles and games for companies like Burger King and Nabisco. Linda currently lives in Asheville NC with her illustrator-writer husband Richard Keep, and is working on a video game script for ages 8+. She spoke with us via Skype about her journey towards writing and the different genres she writes in addition to answering questions posed by our audience.
